Custom Yarn Recycling Using Your Knit Items

Preserve memories and reduce textile waste by giving your knit items a second life! Send us your knit items to recycle into yarn you can use for future projects.

We value your trust very much and take steps to let you know your items are safe while we recycle them. Once you send us the items, we'll weigh them and wash and dry them. You'll get a photograph of the initial weighing. Then, we'll unravel them and wind the resulting yarn into cakes. We'll do our best to preserve as much of the yarn as possible and reduce knots. Please be aware there will be some yarn lost during the process, and know that we'll try to make it as little as possible. We'll keep you updated throughout the process and we'll send progress photos along the way. Once all the yarn has been wound into cakes, we'll weigh them again, as well as any wastage. We'll send you photos of the final weighings. This way, you can be sure you receive back exactly what you sent us (minus any wastage, which we'll account for). Finally, we'll send the completed yarn back to you!

Once you buy this listing, we'll send you a message over Etsy to begin the process. The default price for yarn recycling depends on the type of item and the intricacy of its design. The price is subject to change depending on the specific item. If for any reason your item is not recyclable, we'll refund your purchase at no cost and ship the item back to you. The recycling process may take some time, but we can hurry it if you need (though that may increase the price).
