Handmade Dusty Multicolor Art Scrap Yarn Using 100% Recycled and Secondhand Materials

Description:
This handspun art yarn has a diverse set of textures and colors. Its palette is slightly dusty, with a lot of red, dark green, and blue balanced with brighter pops of more vibrant colors. There are a lot of different textures coming together too, from soft and smooth to stringy and wooly. The yarn has some variation in weight. Nonetheless, because the colors and textures vary in consistent ways, there is an overall cohesiveness to the yarn. To make this yarn, I blended my own yarn scraps - saved from past projects - together with secondhand wool from a local thrift store. I then spun the fiber by hand in a smoke-free environment using my Electric Eel Wheel from Dreaming Robots. Enjoy!

Care:
The yarn is ready-to-use. When it's time to clean, hand-wash it in cold water (using a wool conditioner) and lay flat to dry.

Length estimation:
The length of the skein was estimated by weighing a small length of yarn, finding the centimeter-to-gram ratio, and applying this to the entire weight of the skein. If you'd like a more exact measurement, just let me know! I'd be more than happy to measure the exact length with greater precision.

Packaging:
The yarn will arrive in either a recycled gray mailer or a paper mailer. If it’s in a paper mailer, then the outer packaging (i.e., mailer, label, tape) is entirely recyclable and compostable. If it's in a gray mailer, the outer packaging must be thrown away. In either case, the inner packaging will be entirely compostable.
