There are a lot of different textures coming together too, from soft and smooth to stringy and wooly. The yarn has some variation in weight. Nonetheless, because the colors and textures vary in consistent ways, there is an overall cohesiveness to the yarn. To make this yarn, I blended my own yarn scraps - saved from past projects - together with secondhand wool from a local thrift store. I then spun the fiber by hand in a smoke-free environment using my Electric Eel Wheel from Dreaming Robots. When it's time to clean, hand-wash it in cold water (using a wool conditioner) and lay flat to dry.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLength estimation:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe length of the skein was estimated by weighing a small length of yarn, finding the centimeter-to-gram ratio, and applying this to the entire weight of the skein.
