Handmade Icy Berries Handspun Yarn Using 100% Wool

Quick facts:

• Handspun, 2-ply.
• Contrasting light colors (white, light gray, light purple, etc.) with bright red, orange, green, berry, etc.
• About 72 yards (71.9 yards / 65.8 meters).
• Approximately worsted/DK weight (about 10 WPI) with some variations.
• Uses 100% new wool.

Description:

This handspun yarn has an interesting palette of light, unsaturated colors - white, light gray, light purple, etc. - that contrast with very bright colors like bright apple green, orange, red, berry, etc, The fiber has a painted-type effect, with variations and streaks throughout. This yarn is about a Worsted/DK weight, with variation throughout. It's soft to the touch and has a great bounce to it. The wools for this yarn were processed sustainably, using environmentally-friendly detergents and dyes. I blended the fibers by hand using my drum carder, then spun it on my Electric Eel Wheel from Dreaming Robots. Enjoy!

Care:

The yarn is ready-to-use. When it's time to clean, hand-wash it in cold water (using a wool conditioner) and lay flat to dry.

Length estimation:

The length of the skein was estimated by weighing a small length of yarn, finding the centimeter-to-gram ratio, and applying this to the entire weight of the skein. If you'd like a more exact measurement, just let me know! I'd be more than happy to measure the exact length with greater precision.

Packaging:

The yarn will arrive in either a recycled gray mailer or a paper mailer. If it’s in a paper mailer, then the outer packaging (i.e., mailer, label, tape) is entirely recyclable and compostable. If it's in a gray mailer, the outer packaging must be thrown away. In either case, the inner packaging will be entirely compostable.
