Handspun Bouncy Meadows Yarn Using 100% Wool

Quick facts:

• Handspun, 2-ply.
• Energetic palette using lime green, dark green, white, ultramarine, sky blue, pink, orange, black, etc.
• About 197 yards (196.9 yards / 180.0 meters).
• Approximately worsted weight (about 9 WPI) with prominent thick-and-thin variations.
• Uses a blend of new wool and recycled mixed fibers.

Description:

This fun, high-contrast yarn uses a visual base of different greens with lots of high-contrast bright colors and neutrals throughout (orange, pink, ultramarine, black, white, etc.) plus some lower-saturation colors (like sky blue) for blending. The result is a vibrant, dynamic color palette with a lot of visual energy. It has a buttery texture with a lot of thick-and-thin variation in weight. The wools for this yarn were processed sustainably, using environmentally-friendly detergents and dyes. I then blended the wools by hand using my drum carder, then spun it on my Electric Eel Wheel from Dreaming Robots. Enjoy!

Care:

The yarn is ready-to-use. When it's time to clean, hand-wash it in cold water (using a wool conditioner) and lay flat to dry.

Length estimation:

The length of the skein was estimated by weighing a small length of yarn, finding the centimeter-to-gram ratio, and applying this to the entire weight of the skein. If you'd like a more exact measurement, just let me know! I'd be more than happy to measure the exact length with greater precision.

Packaging:

The yarn will arrive in either a recycled gray mailer or a paper mailer. If it’s in a paper mailer, then the outer packaging (i.e., mailer, label, tape) is entirely recyclable and compostable. If it's in a gray mailer, the outer packaging must be thrown away. In either case, the inner packaging will be entirely compostable.
