Handspun Colorful Peacock Yarn Using 100% Hand-Blended Wool

Quick facts:

• Handspun, 2-ply.
• Hand-blended variation of peacock green, blue, purple, yellow, gold, red, white, and more.
• About 118 yards (117.7 yards / 107.6 meters).
• Varying weight, but approximately worsted (~9 WPI).
• 100% new wool.

Description:

This beautiful handspun yarn features a bright, vibrant palette of saturated colors set against green. The overall palette is mostly cool, centering around peacock colors with bright flashes of contrast like red and orange. This yarn is beautiful and will make an excellent fabric. It varies throughout somewhat but is generally a worsted weight. To make this yarn, I blended the wool on my drum carder then spun it by hand in a smoke-free environment using my Electric Eel Wheel from Dreaming Robots. Enjoy!

Care:

The yarn is ready-to-use. When it's time to clean, hand-wash it in cold water (using a wool conditioner) and lay flat to dry.

Length estimation:

The length of the skein was estimated by weighing a small length of yarn, finding the centimeter-to-gram ratio, and applying this to the entire weight of the skein. If you'd like a more exact measurement, just let me know! I'd be more than happy to measure the exact length with greater precision.

Packaging:

The yarn will arrive in either a recycled gray mailer or a paper mailer. If it’s in a paper mailer, then the outer packaging (i.e., mailer, label, tape) is entirely recyclable and compostable. If it's in a gray mailer, the outer packaging must be thrown away. In either case, the inner packaging will be entirely compostable.
