Handspun Creamy White DK Yarn Using 100% Recycled Wool

Quick facts:

• Handspun, 3-ply.
• Solid creamy white.
• About 513 yards altogether (512.6 yards / 468.7 meters, split among 1 hank of 241.1 yards and 1 hank of 271.5 yards).
• Worsted/DK (10 WPI).
• 100% wool.
• All recycled materials.

Description:

This recycled handspun wool yarn is soft and bright. To make it, I first recycled a gently-used Everlane sweater then spun the results into a 3-ply yarn. There's about 513 yards available. This yarn isn't quite bright white, but is brighter than an off-white. I spun this yarn by hand on my Electric Eel Wheel in a smoke-free environment. Enjoy!

Care:

The yarn is ready-to-use. When it's time to clean, hand-wash it in cold water (using a wool conditioner) and lay flat to dry.

Length estimation:

The length of the skein was estimated by weighing a small length of yarn, finding the centimeter-to-gram ratio, and applying this to the entire weight of the skein. If you'd like a more exact measurement, just let me know! I'd be more than happy to measure the exact length with greater precision.

Packaging:

The yarn will arrive in either a recycled gray mailer or a paper mailer. If it’s in a paper mailer, then the outer packaging (i.e., mailer, label, tape) is entirely recyclable and compostable. If it's in a gray mailer, the outer packaging must be thrown away. In either case, the inner packaging will be entirely compostable.
