Handspun Dark Autumn Brick Red Blended Yarn Using 100% Wool

Quick facts:

Description:

This handspun yarn features a rich palette of dark, red-based autumn colors using a combination of colors like brick red, brown, green, dark blue, etc. with brighter colors (like light orange and cream) blended in. Mixed in throughout this yarn are subtle, dark teal wool nepps using upcycled wool. This yarn has a beautiful, oil paint-type effect, with variations and streaks throughout. This yarn is about an aran weight, with variation throughout. It's soft to the touch and has a great bounce to it. The wools for this yarn were processed sustainably, using environmentally-friendly detergents and dyes. I blended the fibers by hand using my drum carder, then spun it on my Electric Eel Wheel from Dreaming Robots. Enjoy!

Care:

The yarn is ready-to-use. When it's time to clean, hand-wash it in cold water (using a wool conditioner) and lay flat to dry.

Length estimation:

The length of the skein was estimated by weighing a small length of yarn, finding the centimeter-to-gram ratio, and applying this to the entire weight of the skein. If you'd like a more exact measurement, just let me know! I'd be more than happy to measure the exact length with greater precision.

Packaging:

The yarn will arrive in either a recycled gray mailer or a paper mailer. If it’s in a paper mailer, then the outer packaging (i.e., mailer, label, tape) is entirely recyclable and compostable. If it's in a gray mailer, the outer packaging must be thrown away. In either case, the inner packaging will be entirely compostable.
