Handspun Gray Gradient Wool Yarn Using 100% Scottish Wool

Description:

This handspun DK yarn has a gentle gradient of grays, from light to dark gray, with brown mixed in. The gradient shifts tones and colors unevenly, tending to devote more length to darker grays than light. It uses 100% sheep wool from Uist Wool, a community not-for-profit in the Scottish Hebrides islands. This yarn is bouncy, soft, and woolly with an outstanding toothy texture. I spun this by hand on my Electric Eel Wheel from Dreaming Robots. Enjoy!

Care:

The yarn is ready-to-use. When it's time to clean, hand-wash it in cold water (using a wool conditioner) and lay flat to dry.

Length estimation:

The length of the skein was estimated by weighing a small length of yarn, finding the centimeter-to-gram ratio, and applying this to the entire weight of the skein. If you'd like a more exact measurement, just let me know! I'd be more than happy to measure the exact length with greater precision.

Packaging:

The yarn will arrive in either a recycled gray mailer or a paper mailer. If it’s in a paper mailer, then the outer packaging (i.e., mailer, label, tape) is entirely recyclable and compostable. If it's in a gray mailer, the outer packaging must be thrown away. In either case, the inner packaging will be entirely compostable.
