Handspun Midnight Jewels Wool-Blend Yarn

Quick facts:

• Handspun, 2-ply.
• Black, green, yellow, blue, red, brown, white, etc. plus a green sparkle angelina fiber.
• Approximately worsted (about 9 WPI) with some thick-and-thin variations.
• Wool combined with sari silk and upcycled fibers.

Description:

This beautiful handspun yarn blends bright colors and jewel tones against a backdrop of black. It has a vibrant, high contrast palette full of texture and visual movement. The yarn mostly uses wool, along with sari silk and various mixed upcycled fiber inclusions throughout for interest. It's about a worsted weight. I blended the fiber by hand on my drum carder, then spun it by hand with my Electric Eel Wheel. Enjoy!

Care:

The yarn is ready-to-use. When it's time to clean, hand-wash it in cold water (using a wool conditioner) and lay flat to dry.

Length estimation:

The length of the skein was estimated by weighing a small length of yarn, finding the centimeter-to-gram ratio, and applying this to the entire weight of the skein. If you'd like a more exact measurement, just let me know! I'd be more than happy to measure the exact length with greater precision.

Packaging:

The yarn will arrive in either a recycled gray mailer or a paper mailer. If it’s in a paper mailer, then the outer packaging (i.e., mailer, label, tape) is entirely recyclable and compostable. If it's in a gray mailer, the outer packaging must be thrown away. In either case, the inner packaging will be entirely compostable.
