Handspun Shimmering Vibrant Forest Handspun Sparkly Wool-Blend Yarn

Quick facts:

• Handspun, 2-ply.
• Green, yellow, blue, red, brown, white, etc. plus a green sparkle angelina fiber.
• Approximately aran (about 8 WPI) with some thick-and-thin variations.
• 100% wool combined with polyester angelina.

Description:

This vibrant handspun art yarn uses a rich blend of green, yellow, blue, red, brown, white, etc. wool combined with a green sparkling fiber. In the light, it has a beautiful shimmering effect in the light, as the green sparkles create a subtle but noticeable sparkle throughout the yarn. (The effect is hard to capture in photos, but it's stunning in person.) The yarn also has a pleasant, soft texture. It has some thick-and-thin variation throughout, but it's not a dramatically thick-and-thin yarn. The wools for this yarn were processed sustainably, using environmentally-friendly detergents and dyes. I purchased both the wools and the angelina fiber from an independent fiber supplier. I then blended the fibers by hand using my drum carder, then spun it on my Electric Eel Wheel from Dreaming Robots. Enjoy!

Care:

The yarn is ready-to-use. When it's time to clean, hand-wash it in cold water (using a wool conditioner) and lay flat to dry.

Length estimation:

The length of the skein was estimated by weighing a small length of yarn, finding the centimeter-to-gram ratio, and applying this to the entire weight of the skein. If you'd like a more exact measurement, just let me know! I'd be more than happy to measure the exact length with greater precision.

Packaging:

The yarn will arrive in either a recycled gray mailer or a paper mailer. If it’s in a paper mailer, then the outer packaging (i.e., mailer, label, tape) is entirely recyclable and compostable. If it's in a gray mailer, the outer packaging must be thrown away. In either case, the inner packaging will be entirely compostable.
