Handspun Sparkling Amethyst Geode Tweed Yarn Using 100% Wool and Angelina Fiber

Quick facts:

Description:

This striking yarn uses a blend of a variety of purples - with all different shades and hues - and neutrals like black and cream, plus sparkling iridescent purple angelina fiber. It's a tweed yarn, so it has different little bits and pieces of wool for texture and color. This yarn is toothy, with an outstanding feel to touch and a visually stunning color palette. Most of the wool for this yarn comes from a local fiber CSA to support farmers in this area, which grows, mills, and dyes yarn and wools. I blended the fibers by hand using my drum carder, then spun it on my Electric Eel Wheel from Dreaming Robots. Enjoy!

Care:

The yarn is ready-to-use. When it's time to clean, hand-wash it in cold water (using a wool conditioner) and lay flat to dry.

Length estimation:

The length of the yarn was estimated by weighing a small length of yarn, finding the centimeter-to-gram ratio, and applying this to the entire weight of the skein. If you'd like a more exact measurement, just let me know! I'd be more than happy to measure the exact length with greater precision.

Packaging:

The yarn will arrive in either a recycled gray mailer or a paper mailer. If it’s in a paper mailer, then the outer packaging (i.e., mailer, label, tape) is entirely recyclable and compostable. If it's in a gray mailer, the outer packaging must be thrown away. In either case, the inner packaging will be entirely compostable.
