Handspun Sparkling Pond Water Yarn Using Recycled Wool

Quick facts:

• Handspun, about 5-ply.
• Teal and olive green marled with white.
• About 106 yards (106.0 yards / 96.9 meters).

• Blend of 100% wool.
• Uses a mix of new and recycled fibers.

Description:

This handspun yarn uses a blend of teal and olive wool, plied together with recycled white Merino wool. I then plied this together with recycled white Merino wool again, for structure, density, and color. This yarn is bouncy and dense and looks like water speckling across the surface of a pond. I spun this by hand on my Electric Eel Wheel from Dreaming Robots. Enjoy!

Care:

The yarn is ready-to-use. When it's time to clean, hand-wash it in cold water (using a wool conditioner) and lay flat to dry.

Length estimation:

The length of the skein was estimated by weighing a small length of yarn, finding the centimeter-to-gram ratio, and applying this to the entire weight of the skein. If you'd like a more exact measurement, just let me know! I'd be more than happy to measure the exact length with greater precision.

Packaging:

The yarn will arrive in either a recycled gray mailer or a paper mailer. If it’s in a paper mailer, then the outer packaging (i.e., mailer, label, tape) is entirely recyclable and compostable. If it's in a gray mailer, the outer packaging must be thrown away. In either case, the inner packaging will be entirely compostable.
